Blue Pills on the March
I don't write about politics or world affairs much these days, as focusing my energies in that direction serves little purpose except to make me angry. I'd much rather stand on my head while eating a popsicle, having nasty thoughts about Britney's bald head.
This morning, however, I felt a little provoked. I found the following email in my inbox, and it just begs for the Amod treatment. So, lock and load, because the lead's about to fly.
The lady who wrote this letter is Pam Foster of Pamela Foster and Associates in Atlanta . She recently wrote a letter to a family member serving in Iraq ....... Read it!
Your second question sounds more than a little condescending, as if you already know the answer, of course. Doesn't everybody? I don't personally know if the 911 hijackers were Islamic or not. I only know what the media puts out and, since our media is corporate-owned, I'm not sure how much they can be trusted.
Assuming they were Islamic, does that mean they started this? Pam, do you ever ask yourself why those people were willing to commit suicide? Do you really think they would kill themselves just because, as our leaders tell us, they hate us for being free? Please tell me you're smarter than that. Tell me that you've at least done a little research, enough to have some idea of the "terror" that the Israelis inflict on the Palestinians daily. This terror is financed almost exclusively by the U.S., and has been condemned repeatedly by the international community, via multiple UN resolutions which Israel and the U.S. completely ignore. If a U.S. made bulldozer crushed your parents' house while they were inside, wouldn't you want to exact some revenge? Maybe even crash a plane into a building? Multiply this incident by a few thousand, and you can start to grasp the anger and frustration of the Arab community. And now the U.S. is threatening to do the same in Iraq, and maybe even Iran. So, I ask you again, Pam: Do you really think that THEY started this?
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia .
It's good to see you're thinking for yourself. Of course, you don't care that a copy of the Koran was damaged. Do you know why you don't care? Because those responsible for you reading about it or seeing it on TV don't want you to care. They want you to feel rage toward Muslims. Why? So they can use your attitudes toward Islam and Arabs to justify their next invasion, be it Iran, Syria, or wherever. How do you know Osama bin Laden was responsible for 911? Refer to my earlier remark about the corporate-controlled media. Have you ever entertained an original thought, Pam? Do you ever read anything that's not mainstream?
The Holy Bible? I'm so sick of people claiming to be Christians who seem to have no idea what Jesus even taught! Sure, it's easy to love people who love you back, but the Nazarene said that's not good enough. How can you love your enemies while dropping bombs on them?
Speaking of the Bible, Pam, do you even know where the word "holy" originated? You see, back in ancient Scotland and Ireland, the common people worshipped nature. It was believed that stones with natural holes in them were sacred, hence they were called "holey stones." When the Christians arrived they murdered these heathen pagan devil-worshippers, along with their religious beliefs. They usurped the word "holey", however, and eventually dropped the "e".
I'll care when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi tells the world he is sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.
How did you hear the gruesome details of Nick Berg's murder? Funny how you never hear details about the atrocities Americans commit. We know, from hearing about "extraordinary renditions" that we now are a nation that advocates torture, but where are the details? Why don't we hear more about how Abdul, father of seven, died from electricity being applied to his testicles? Ask yourself that, Pam.
Of course, those cowardly insurgents. How dare they hide from our soldiers, hitting them when they're not ready. It kind of reminds me of those cowardly Americans, circa 1776. Hiding in trees, sneaking up on those poor British soldiers.
I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.
When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured that I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank that I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts that I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and ---- you guessed it - - I don't care ! ! ! ! !
Huh?
If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your e-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!
If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button.
Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great country.
Either you agree with this viewpoint, or you're intelligent.
