So let’s combine two fascinating concepts. The genome project (physical immortality), with quantum physics(parallel universes and time travel). What would this mean?

Providing you didn’t get killed, or contract some illness that the injection didn’t account for, you could explore an infinite number of parallel universes, going back to even before you were born. The only catch is that you would have to stay in each universe until the present day, when time travel is invented.

What would happen if you did something in the parallel universe that changed the concept of time travel? Say you had an affair with the wife of the scientist who invented it. He becomes distraught and withdraws from society, never to study the field which would allow you to make the shift. You would still be immortal, but you might have to wait another hundred years or so, maybe even five hundred years before you could time travel again.

One way around this would be to study quantum physics yourself. After all, you literally have all the time in the world. And, if you followed your own investment advice from the previous post, money would certainly not be an issue. Your body would be that of a 25-year-old, so you would fit in on any college campus in the world. You could even study with Einstein and Bohr! A degree wouldn’t be necessary, as you’re not looking for a job, just knowledge. You would only have to do this once, as this knowledge would stay with you from universe to universe.

One drawback is that obviously you would have to build a time machine in every universe you visited. Technology plays a big role here, in that if you stay relatively recent, you would have little difficulty finding components you might need. Finding parts to construct a particle accelerator in the year 1734, however, might prove a daunting task.

Depending on the size of what was needed, much may travel with you. A particle accelerator, quantum computer, and some notes at the very least, not to mention a generator of some sort. All this might get cumbersome, however, in that you would have to find a safe place to keep and protect it. What if Napoleon sent his army to confiscate your time machine?
