Does anybody think it’s odd that the day after Lieberman gets his butt kicked in Connecticut, a major terrorist plot is foiled? Or, that when Mel did “Passion of the Christ,” Jewish groups threatened that he wouldn’t work in Hollywood again, and a year later he’s arrested drunk while blathering anti-semitic remarks? Maybe it’s just my inner conspiracy theorist, but something’s not right.

In the case of Lieberman, might it be that those in charge got a glimpse of what awaited them come November? Are they now trying to convince us why we need them, and to remind us why we’re in Iraq and Afghanistan? Never mind that Iraq never threatened us.

It’s sad, but if the talking heads tell Americans they should be scared, Americans believe them. Are we really too lazy to think for ourselves?
